Realize Colorado is ready to assist!
No matter the size, budget, or seemingly impossible parameters, we would love to help make your company’s holiday event one that will be talked about for years to come.
Last December, with a little bit of hard-work and ingenuity, we accomplished just that…
When a well-known online database company approached us about producing their holiday party, we were all ears. Little did we know that the event was to be a high-end theme with heavy entertainment and décor needs for 1,100 people on a minimal budget.
The client’s primary goal was to find an appropriately sized venue located downtown during the busiest time of year. Their vision was to create a unique and captivating experience that was not your typical corporate holiday party. They wanted a Speakeasy theme that would keep every attendee engaged throughout the 4-hour-long event.
Considering these requests along with the budget, we were forced to think outside-the-box.
Our first step was to secure an unexpected venue with many built-in entertainment and décor elements. We chose an old warehouse-turned-nightclub with art deco flair right in the heart of downtown Denver.
Following the venue rental, we had to become very imaginative with the remaining dollars. We created the appearance of a high-end event and exceeded the client’s expectations.
Here is how we did it:
As guests entered the venue’s main floor, after receiving a glass of champagne, they were greeted by a traditional DJ spinning speakeasy-inspired tunes. The tone was set, and they embarked upon a journey to discover each element of the event that awaited them.
Due to the venue having a mashup of rooms covering two different levels, it was almost like a maze. Signage and maps were a must. We gave each room a Great Gatsby-inspired name and labeled them with affordable light-up marquee letters and arrows to help direct the crowd.
We used the venue’s existing games as interactive entertainment. From billiards and skeeball, to air hockey and arcade games, this space had many integrated options already in-place to help attendees let loose and have some fun.
We brought-in liquid nitrogen catering to create interactive stations. A nitro martini bar mystically drew guests into a hazy room to enjoy a craft cocktail, while a floating dessert display allured them to watch in awe as smoke filled the space.
We hired a vintage-inspired singing trio dressed as flappers who engaged the crowd.
We utilized speakeasy-era costumed performers to act as atmospheric entertainment while distributing a variety of ‘secret notes’ to the guests to let them know of the spaces they may not have discovered yet.
The silent disco was a must from the client and a huge hit with the crowd.
We incorporated multiple glamorous photobooths.
We used champagne-toned uplighting and a variety of string lights to work with the venue’s existing blue and red-toned lighting.
On the in-house TV’s, we ran screenings of Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby.
Finally, we incorporated props and takeaways into simple and fun tabletop décor. Who wouldn’t get in the holiday spirit by wearing pearl beads, feather headbands and fedoras?
We are so proud of this production and are honored to say that it recently won the ILEA Denver Excellence Awards for Best Corporate Event and Best Event Entertainment.
