Happy Holidays, everyone!
As 2019 comes to a close, we wanted to round out the year by sharing some information (and exciting news!) about an exceptional industry association: the one and only, Destination Colorado.
Destination Colorado is a nonprofit organization designed to provide resources and information for meeting and event professionals across the globe. Since its creation in 1993, Destination Colorado’s goal has been to make statewide site selection and planning convenient and straightforward.
Over 130 members represent the very best in amenities, activities and service that Colorado has to offer. By combining member resources, Destination Colorado strives to help conference, meeting, and incentive planners explore one of America’s most desirable group destinations. They accomplish this through their web site, major trade shows, a meeting planners guide, cooperative advertising programs, lead referrals, and strategic partnerships.
Realize Colorado has been a proud member of Destination Colorado since 2014 and our owner, Deana Mitchell, currently serves on the Board of Directors. We are truly grateful to be a part of this standout organization and encourage you to learn more about who they are and what they have to offer.
One of Destination Colorado’s most highly anticipated events is their annual Front Range Trade Show. This year, it was held at the iconic home of the Denver Broncos: Empower Field at Mile High. Every year, it is the holiday party of the season for Colorado vendors and planners! Always festive and fun, great food and drinks, as well as cool décor abound. The give-aways are a big hit too!
For us, the highlight of the event was being named Destination Colorado Peak Performer Company of the Year 2019. The award was handed out by Immediate Past President Kathy Reak, whose presentation was extremely complimentary…
“It is always such an honor to present two very special awards at our Annual Meeting each year… our Company and Individual of the Year awards. These are companies and individuals who are being recognized by our association as the “best of the best” based on their 2019 efforts and commitment to both Destination Colorado and the meetings industry in general.
We begin with our 2019 Company of the Year…
Even though our association is fortunate to have so many worthy and contributing members for this award, our decision for our 2019 Company of the Year was very easy based on all of their incredible talent and contributions throughout the year.
Let’s begin with our Atlanta Road Shows. Our 2019 Company of the Year spent countless volunteer hours assisting with site selection, menu and décor for two extremely successful road show lunches in downtown and mid-town Atlanta. Because of their creativity and dedication, these were two of our best road shows ever, exposing Atlanta planners to what Colorado is capable of delivering. Our 2019 Company of the Year didn’t stop after Atlanta. They continued to provide their time and inspiration to a number of additional Destination Colorado programs, and always with an enthusiastic and contagious attitude.
Our 2019 Company of the Year perfectly demonstrates the Colorado spirit for which we are known. They are not only dedicated to achieving the best end result, but they do so with the innovation, creativity and the flexibility necessary to meet every budget and group need. And… regardless of any challenges presented during the process, they remain calm under fire and are really fun to work with.
The team at our 2019 Company of the Year are all passionate about what they do and where they live. Most of them have been a guide of some kind, worked at a local hotel/resort and been connected with some fabulous events.
All really good companies are fortunate to have stellar leadership at the top. And the owner of our 2019 Company of the Year defines stellar leadership. She is not only trustworthy, dedicated and committed, but she is also a stellar person who is genuinely kind, honest and compassionate in everything she does.
Destination Colorado is honored to present its 2019 Company of the Year Award to Realize Colorado.”
What a humbling experience and a true honor from such a respected organization.
We’d also like to give a shoutout to an amazing fellow member of the Board who won Individual of the Year: our friend and colleague from Visit Fort Collins, Lindsey Rohrbaugh. Well done, Lindsey!
