Off the beaten path… will explore some of our favorite hidden gems and unique destinations across Colorado.
Today, we are featuring Devil’s Thumb Ranch, located in the small town of Tabernash.
Just 65 miles from Denver lies the breathtaking and historic Devil’s Thumb Ranch. Nestled among the rolling hills and rugged mountains near Winter Park, Devil’s Thumb is a geological formation overlooking the ranch.

This rocky outcropping was named by Native American tribes long before the area was settled. Devil’s Thumb has been the namesake of the ranch since its opening as a vacation property in 1946.
Today, Devil’s Thumb Ranch is a sophisticated luxury resort where guests can experience an authentic, sustainable and rustically elegant getaway. From premier Nordic skiing in the winter and a genuine cattle drive in the summer, to a renowned full-service spa and several gourmet dining options on-site… Devil’s Thumb Ranch is an impressive venue, with something for everyone, just off the beaten path.
We recently had the opportunity to work with a couple of different groups out at the ranch. During these programs, we were able to showcase a sampling of what this incredible destination has to offer. The essence of Devil’s Thumb Ranch is its ability to provide an exclusive “stay and play” experience while hosting spectacular evening events… and we took full advantage of that as a DMC!
During the day, guests took part in a variety of activities including: educational hikes, fly fishing, zip lining and spa treatments. With Realize’s help, participants signed up for multiple activities and enjoyed individual schedules chock-full of recreation!

At night, the groups attended themed dinners with an array of musical acts and interactive entertainment. From a guitar duo to an eleven piece dance band, a mobile magician and money machine to freshly rolled cigars paired with whiskey by a local connoisseur… the sky is the limit at Devil’s Thumb Ranch and Realize can turn your vision into reality!
